Most people snooze their alarm several times before rushing out of bed and cramming their morning activities into the space of 20 minutes before heading off to work.

But, according to life coaches, everyone should be getting up before 7am and ticking off seven key things.

Whether you're a working mother, a housewife, a student or a global CEO, life coach Sam Sahota and Clinical Hypnotherapist, Dipti Tait, reveal the seven things everyone should do for a more successful and productive day, the Daily Mail reports.

1. Meditate

This can involve deep meditation or simply spending some time on your own visualising and mentally preparing yourself for the day ahead.

Using mental images of how you want your day to evolve is a fantastic way of attracting the good and positive things into your day via the power of visualisation. This will also help you reduce stress and will increase concentration levels.

2. Exercise/Yoga

Practising a series of short exercises like yoga, which work the whole body - not only externally but also internally - sets you up for a productive day.

3. Read

Bill Gates said that if he could have a superpower then he would want to be able to read faster. If the richest man in the world is educating himself every day then we should all take that as a lesson and increase our knowledge by reading something inspiring which gives us the positivity we need.

4. Drink a glass of water before your breakfast

This will flush away the toxins built up in the night. It also helps you feel refreshed and revitalised to cope with the new input of information that the day brings.

5. Set goals

Prepare yourself by setting realistic goals that you hope to achieve. Your goals should be your road map to the day ahead in order to maximise your time and effort instead of floating through your day aimlessly.

By setting goals you are being proactive as opposed to reactive and when you hit a goal you should congratulate yourself and move onto the next one. This will give you immense confidence to set bigger goals in the future.

6. Think of three people that make you smile

This will help your brain release oxytocin, which is the chemical that makes you feel warm and fuzzy, helping you start the day in a sharing and caring way.

7. Sing in the shower

This puts you in a good mood immediately and encourages the good mood ripple effect.
