We're getting Adele, Justin Bieber, Guns N' Roses, 21 Pilots, Green Day and Bruce Springsteen.

But there's one name who won't be performing in New Zealand next year. And that's Neil Young.

Promoters Frontier Touring had teased a 2017 tour by the legendary rocker across Australia and New Zealand,

"Frontier Touring are thrilled to reveal that Neil Young, one of rock's most revered songwriters and performers, will be returning to Australia and New Zealand in 2017 for his first shows down under in four years," a Facebook message posted in October said.

"Young will perform headline dates in both countries, including indoor arenas and special outdoor shows. He'll be joined on stage by Promise of the Real - a five-piece Californian band featuring Willie Nelson's sons Lukas and Micah."

But a message posted to Twitter said those plans had been scrapped.
