A New Zealand potato shortage has now led to a potato chip crisis

Guys, you may want to take a seat for this one for what we're about to tell you is not for the faint-hearted.

Things have taken a sinister turn in the snacks department as stocks of potato chips are battling a nationwide shortage. A Foodstuffs spokeswoman has revealed that the wet weather has seen suppliers having trouble meeting demand.

New season potatoes are approaching harvest time, within the next couple weeks, until then expect to see your 'tater chips aisle at your local to be a bit bare.
