It seems Hollywood is having a hard time coming up with an original story line at the moment because they keep announcing reboots and remakes.

But the latest reboot is upsetting fans big time!

Yep, Morgan Creek Productions has just announced they're looking at bringing back the Ace Ventura franchise.

It's been 22 years since the last Ace Ventura film, 'When Nature Calls', hit cinemas - successfully following on from the 1994 movie 'Ace Ventura: Pet Detective'.

The films, which follow a goofy detective with an affinity for animals, rocketed Jim Carrey to comedy stardom.

So what's all the fuss about?

Many fans are only interested in a new movie if Jim Carrey is the star - which isn't looking likely.

The company has said they’d happily bring Carrey back on board, but only in a small capacity to "hand the baton over to a younger actor".

Morgan Creek's head of content, Barbra Wall, indicated that there was a possibility of "a long-lost son or daughter of Ace possibly showing up at his doorstep and taking over."

What is Ace Ventura without Jim Carrey?!
