Animal lovers invited to hug a pug for a good cause

If a morning spent playing with pugs sounds like a fun time to you, we have some good news.

Auckland is getting its first "Hug a Pug" event.

For a gold coin donation, pug lovers are invited to play with the pugs on Saturday, September 2 from 11am, at Central Bark in Parnell, Auckland.

The proceeds of the event will go towards New Zealand Pug Rescue.

The Facebook event page hints at a packed house, with more than 4000 people registered their interest and more than 1500 confirming they will attend, with the event still a couple of weeks away.
