Aucklanders shouldn't be alarmed if they see a man flying through the city this morning.

Stuntman Chuck Berry will become the first person to use a wing-suit across Auckland today as part of the 50-day countdown to the Winter Games in Queenstown.

Berry, a professional international display skydiver, will land at Victoria Park at 10.28am. He will be accompanied in the wing-suit flight by international skydive coach, Jim Scott.

Berry and Scott will jump from 7000 feet, within three nautical miles (nm) of Victoria Park.

They will freefall and fly canopies to remain within a 3 nm radius above Victoria Park, activating parachutes at about 2000 feet to land in the designated area in the park.
