Stingy Melbourne landlord ‘installs coin-operated flush on toilet’

And the tenant is not happy!

According to a Melbourne Reddit user, his landlord has banned him flushing his toilet unless he inserts coins into a device.

Asking if this is illegal, he wrote: ‘I understand in our laundry having to pay for the communal washing machine. But I pay the water bill that goes into my apartment.

‘He said it was a government incentive to save water. But then why does he get to collect the money?’

The angry tenant then went on to say that his neighbour had told him to spread the word in order to expose the landlord.

But many people weren't convinced at the man’s claims.

One user wrote: ‘I’m trying to work out how it would even mechanically operate? C’mon dudes.’
