The Chase fans mourn the 'final' episode of show

Fans are in uproar after it was announced that a new gameshow, Babushka, would be replacing The Chase.

Viewers took to social media to show their sadness for the show being off air after assuming that the show had been axed.

One fan said: "Don't know what I'm going to do without The Chase."

Another chimed in: "Last show ever and all it just had to be Mark Labbett."

A third added: "Can't believe I'm watching the last chase ever! Gunna miss it & Brad! Tea times will never be the same."

Insisting that The Chase would be back with new episodes in June, Chaser Anne took to Twitter to reassure fans.

"Sigh. No. We are off for the month of May ONLY, to give Rylan's new show Babushka some airtime.

Amid the drama surrounding The Chase's absence, Rylan was forced to hit back against the backlash commenting, "FYI @Babushka is NOT replacing @ITVChase.

"The Chase is having a month break as normal and Babushka is filling that slot. Hope you like it x."
