Last week, Madame Tussaud's New York came under major fire for its Beyoncé wax figure — and to be honest, we couldn't really blame her fans for feeling outraged!

Many fans took to Twitter to accuse the wax museum of white-washing, which made the hashtag "#TussaudsSoWhite" go viral.

But it wasn't just the colour of her skin fans were angry about.

The figure, which is dressed in a blue sparkly costume, fishnets, and thigh high black boots, appears to have long blonde curly locks reminiscent of the singer’s but that's where the similarities stop....

The tourist attraction tried to explain what happened with a statement saying: "At Madame Tussauds, our talented team of sculptors take every effort to ensure we accurately colour match all of our wax figures to the celebrity being depicted. Lighting within the attraction combined with flash photography may distort and misrepresent the colour of our wax figures."

But clearly the museum couldn't handle the heat, as they've since adjusted the wax figure.

On Thursday it was reported that the statue of Queen Bey was missing from the star-studded celebrity halls, with no explanation for the figure's absence.

However, Madame Tussauds New York has now released a statement explaining the replica of the pop titan had been removed to be adjusted.

"We love, respect and enjoy a working relationship with Beyoncé. We have adjusted the styling and lighting of her figure and she is on display," the statement reads.

The adjustments? Well all they've done is made the wax figure's skin slightly darker and made some slight adjustments to her face.

Still doesn't really look like Beyoncé... but hey at least it doesn't look as much like Lindsay Lohan now.
