Bruno Langley, best known for his role on Coronation Street, has been found guilty of sexual assault.

The 34-year-old - who played Todd Grimshaw, the first openly gay character on the show - was facing two counts of sexual assault after he molested the women at a Manchester music venue last month, grabbing them by the breasts, crotch and bottom.

Langley, who has no previous convictions, wept as he was sentenced.

Instead of a jail term, he was ordered to complete a 12-month community order and submit to a curfew.

He was also ordered to pay £250 to each of his two victims and must sign the sex offenders' register for the next five years.

The judge told him: 'The fact that you were heavily intoxicated is not mitigation, it is a further aggravating feature.'

'You have lost your good name and employment and it may well be difficult to gain employment in the entertainment in future.'

Langley had pled guilty to the charges and apologised to his victims, revealing he is getting help for a drinking problem.

Following an internal inquiry into the assault allegation his contract with Coronation Street was terminated with immediate effect.
