Former Shortland Street star Anna Hutchison gets engaged

Congratulations to Kiwi actress-done-good in Hollywood, Anna Hutchison who last week got engaged to her long-time beau, Hollywood manager Mike Gillespie.

The romantic engagement took place in Paris, the City of Love, with the couple excitedly posing underneath the Eiffel Tower. Hutchison — now the proud owner of a quite a sparkler of an engagement ring — and her fiance are now holidaying in the Spanish islands of Ibiza and Palma.

Hutchison, 31, became a household name in New Zealand starring in a range of dramas — including Shortland Street and Go Girls  — before heading to the States to try to break into Hollywood.

Gillespie, a native of Boston, started in the mailroom at United Talent Agency where he eventually became a big-time talent agent.

After leaving the University of Texas at Arlington, he went into management and partnerships with several silver screen power players and is said to be a key “connecter” in Hollywood.

He is currently with Primary Entertainment where he has produced several movies, including two that feature Hutchison — Blinder in 2013 and the upcoming Sugar Mountain.
