While she shot to fame as a teenage model after being discovered at the age of 14, Kate Moss has gone to great lengths to keep her own daughter out of the spotlight.

Until now that is. Lila Grace, 14, has landed her first fashion campaign, posing alongside her friend - The Clash musician Mick Jones' daughter Stella - as the new face of The Braid Bar.

The campaign follows years of effort by model Kate to keep her only child away from public eye, the Daily Mail reports.

The shot shows the teenager modelling the colourful braids synonymous with the beauty bar brand, as well as flashing a glimpse of her train-track braces and double ear piercing.

Kate, 43, and Lila's father, publishing mogul Jefferson Hack, have previously gone to great lengths to shield their daughter from the spotlight.

Lila has rarely appeared with her famous parents at public events, aside from a trip down the red carpet with her model mum at the premiere of family film Paddington back in 2014.

The teenager was a bridesmaid at her mother's wedding to The Kills' guitarist Jamie Hince in 2011, but the model made sure photos of her daughter at the big day were not published.

In the past year though Kate and Jefferson have carefully orchestrated their child's entry into the spotlight.

Last June Lila Grace appeared alongside her mother on the cover of Italian Vogue.

The monochrome shot showed Lila Grace in her mum’s arms and featured a quote from Moss across the images that reads: "It’s all about family."

Iconic photographer Mario Sorrenti, and Kate's ex-boyfriend, was the man behind the lens for the mother-daughter shoot entitled Love.

Kate and Jefferson have also set their daughter up with the same modelling agency that count Kate on their books - KMA.

Jefferson, who founded culture magazine Dazed alongside photographer Rankin, insisted to the Sunday Times Magazine last summer that his daughter lives a normal life despite her famous parents.

The publisher explains his daughter keeps himself and her model mother rooted in the 'real' world, explaining: "She thinks me and her mum are deeply uncool. I don’t think her music tastes are cool — Capital radio and Justin Bieber. She keeps me real."

In 2015, during a chat with fans on digital forum Ask.fm, the then 12-year-old denied that Kate was her idol, saying: "No, like every mum she's embarrassing and annoying but u love them rlly (sic)."

Jefferson and Kate - who dated from 2001-2004 with Lila being born in 2002 - ensure their daughter spends a regular amount of time with each of them.

Speaking to NET-A-PORTER.com’s digital magazine, The EDIT last June, catwalk queen Kate reveals she has a no-nonsense policy when it comes to setting boundaries as a mother.

"I’m really strict, but I think they quite like it. [Lila] says that I’m stricter than other parents."

Asked if she ever has to nag her daughter about completing her homework, Kate confesses: "No, I don’t, because she knows, she does it on her own.

"No, I’ll go like this,' she adds before lifting her sunglasses and showcasing her stern stare, 'and I don’t have to say anything. You’ve got to get a look down. Girls, you have to scare them, otherwise, they will take over."

Kate, whose style advice and enviable wardrobe is craved by fashion followers across the world, also revealed that she has already started saving items of clothing for her teen daughter to inherit - though admits the youngster is yet to take any interest.
