In just one week, some the world's most beautiful women are set to strut down the Victoria's Secret runway in Shanghai to Katy Perry's tunes.

Well, that was untill she was banned indefinitely…

Along with a host of top models, including Gigi Hadid, Page Six revealed Perry has also been removed from the gig after her visa to enter the communist nation was denied by Chinese officials.

According to the publication, Perry has been banned indefinitely from the country due to a sunflower dress she wore at a performance in Taipei in 2015.

The dress - which featured two huge sunflowers strategically over her breast - caused widespread outrage because the sunflower is a symbol used by anti-China protesters.

Page Six wrote: "She was initially granted a visa to perform at the VS show in Shanghai, then Chinese officials changed their minds and yanked her visa. For every artist who wants to perform in China, officials comb through their social-media and press reports to see if they have done anything deemed to be offensive to the country. Maroon 5 was banned a few years ago because one band member wished the Dalai Lama happy birthday on Twitter.”

Some of Victoria’s Secret’s biggest names have been denied entry to China, in addition to lesser-known models, such as Julia Belyakova, Kate Grigorieva and Irina Sharipova.

The models were denied entry due to various social-media posts they had made, which were apparently deemed offensive.

Model Adriana Lima’s visa has been held up due to an ongoing “diplomatic problem.”

Perry is being replaced in the show by Harry Styles.
