Prince Harry made sure his new fiancee had a personal connection to his late mum, Princess Diana, when he proposed.

In a touching tribute, the 33-year-old personally designed Meghan Markle's engagement ring with two diamonds from Diana's personal collection.

The 'Suits' actress showed off her stunning three-stone band when she and Harry posed for photos at the White Garden - a memorial spot for the royal's late mother - in the grounds of Kensington Palace.

The gorgeous gold ring features one large diamond sourced from Botswana - which is where the couple enjoyed a safari holiday in September - and two smaller diamonds taken from his beloved mother's personal collection.

The ring was made by Cleave and Company, Court Jewellers and Medallists to Her Majesty The Queen.

It's believed to be priceless because of the rarity of the setting and the connection to Diana.

Stephen Barnard, a former jeweller to the Royal Family said the centre stone appears to be a 2.5ct cushion cut diamond with a round diamond on either side

Harry's older brother Prince William famously proposed to Kate Middleton with Diana's sapphire and diamond ring from her engagement to Prince Charles.
