Shania Twain regrets not having more children.

The 52-year-old singer has a 16-year-old son called Eja with her ex-husband Robert Lange, but has admitted she wishes she had more children, because she relishes the challenge of being a mother so much.

Shania said: "I love being a mother. I wish I had more children.

"At 52, I don't think I'm going to have any more children. I'm probably not capable.

"But I decided that, well, maybe I'm just going to stay where I'm at.

I have a beautiful step-daughter and I have a beautiful son. I'm very happy.

"I just love being a parent and I would have loved to have had more kids."

And despite her incredible career success, Shania confessed she still loves spending quality time with her family, which includes her husband Frederic Thiebaud.

Speaking to ITV's Lorraine, she explained: "I really do love being a family person. I love cooking and packing lunches and making pancakes on Saturday mornings and all that sort of stuff."

Earlier this month, meanwhile, Shania revealed she feared she'd never sing again after contracting Lyme disease.

The Still the One hitmaker was left worried for her career after she was diagnosed with the debilitating condition - a bacterial infection spread to humans by infected ticks - because she was left unable to speak.

She previously said: "I was clear of any immediate effects. But then I started having problems controlling my voice.

"At the time, I just figured I needed a break from music to rest. But that break became an extended break because my voice never came back.

I lost a serious pleasure in my life. I believed I would never sing again."
