Have you ever wondered what the stars have in their homes? If they're fans of bold statement pieces dotted around the house or if cool Scandinavian decor is more their style?

Do you ponder if, like yourself, they also have a countertop that keeps getting covered in miscellaneous stuff or carpet that's been ruined by coffee, red wine and children?

If the answer to any of those questions is "yes", then read on. We're about to take a tour of their abodes to find out.

(Although seeing as an invitation to actually poke around in their house would very likely be declined and it's generally frowned upon to peer through someone else's windows, we shall have to resort to gleaning what we can from their publicly shared photos...)

Kate Hawkesby and Mike Hosking

Broadcasting duo Mike Hosking and Kate Hawkesby's house is no doubt a hive of bustling activity, given the five children they have between them.

And when it comes to decorating, it looks like they are fans of big statement pieces.

No sea of cool neutrals here!

And we're almost certain those floors are kept immaculate while Hosking and his trusty Dyson vacuum cleaner are on duty.

He even vacuums that pool they have out the back of their house. (Although he uses a pool-cleaning robot for that.)

Graham the pool guy teaching me how to use the remote for my new pool cleaning robot. Game changer.

 Beauden Barrett and Hannah Laity

We’re not sure if it's All Black Beauden Barrett or his partner Hannah Laity who is the Citta fan in the relationship, but the house they share in Wellington is festooned with the brand's wares – from the cushions that adorn their big, squishy, non-child-friendly couch to their bedroom linen.

Should you ever be stuck for a gift for the Barrett-Laitys, you at least now know what voucher to buy them so as to quench their apparent thirst for soft furnishings.

By no means the queen of decor but the living room is slowly getting there! 😍 #CittaObsessed

 Anika Moa

Singer Anika Moa and her wife Natasha Utting have a cosy home full of cute touches for their combined brood of three boys.

There's the deliciously comfy-looking leather couch (perfect for mopping up any child-related spills), bunk beds with the brightest of linens, and the Dick Frizzell artwork adorning Moa’s "corner" for typing and listening to music.

Oh, and the toys on the floor. (Although with just the one truck left out, those boys must be the tidiest kids ever.)

One lonely Kmart truck. #itshisfave

 Alysha Brown

And then there is the St Heliers beach house former Bachelorette Alysha Brown has been calling home of late.

How cute does this look?

 Chelsea Winter

A past MasterChef NZ winner, Chelsea Winter is famous for her bestselling cookbooks – and those recipes are still dreamed up and made in her own kitchen.

So what does the kitchen of a well-known cook look like?

Judging by this snap, it's light and bright with plenty of cupboard space, a sink full of dishes – and a sparrow friend nibbling at snacks on the bench. Of course.
