Wondering if there was a reason why Donald Trump was in just about every sitcom and movie in the '90s?

The current American President made cameo appearances in everything from TV shows The Nanny to Spin City, Suddenly Susan and Fresh Prince of Bel Air, to films Zoolander and Home Alone 2.

Turns out, there's a reason - and Matt Damon has revealed why.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Damon said Trump had a rule that if you wanted to include a shot inside a Trump building, filmmakers also had to include a scene with Trump.

Damon called the "bullshit shots" a waste of everyone's time.

"The deal was that if you wanted to shoot in one of his buildings, you had to write him in a part," said Damon.

"[Director] Martin Brest had to write something in Scent of a Woman - and the whole crew was in on it. You have to waste an hour of your day with a bullshit shot: Donald Trump walks in and Al Pacino's like, 'Hello, Mr. Trump!' - you had to call him by name - and then he exits.

"You waste a little time so that you can get the permit, and then you can cut the scene out. But I guess in Home Alone 2 they left it in."

Trump went on to get his own show as host of The Apprentice. We all know what happened next.
