When John Palmer got engaged to the love of his life, he had very definite ideas about one key part of the wedding celebration. For their wedding, he wanted to give his bride, Corey Longley, the perfect first dance.

There was only one hitch. John has been confined to a wheelchair for the past nineteen years after the loss the use of his lower body in a pool accident.

John wanted to prove that this wheelchair wouldn’t stop him from moving, or from giving his wife a truly beautiful and romantic moment on their wedding day. So they secretly enrolled in accessible ballroom dance classes, and prepared a truly stunning routine for the big day!

They even set their dance to Ed Sheeran’s song “Thinking Out Loud,” which opens with the words, “When your legs don’t work like they used to before, and I can’t sweep you off of your feet…”
