Is our Sam Wallace the new Mike Hosking?

Sam Wallace is a man of many talents. Not only is he a trusted weather presenter, radio host and fitspo poster child, he’s just landed a new gig – as the new Mike Hosking.

Yes, last night saw Sam step into Mike Hosking’s Gucci loafers, anchoring Seven Sharp for the very first time alongside Toni Street.

Posting on social media, the Sarah, Sam and Toni host admitted he was nervous heading into his 7pm debut slot, taking to anxious eating to calm his nerves.

Toni caught him chowing down on a pre-show peanut slab, declaring: “Sam is now stress eating!”

She also posted a cute pre-show snap of the pair on the Seven Sharp set.

“Big night for @breakfastsam…Good luck Sammy” Toni said.

But there was no need to be nervous. Sammy did a great job – and we’re not the only ones who thought so.

Fan feedback was all in favour of keeping Sam on telly.  

“Yay!! Love seeing you back on our screens!! You're amazing!!!” said one fan.

Another said: “Told you that you had nothing to worry about! 👊🏼smashed it!”

“Definitely a face for TV ! Have missed seeing your personality on TV everyday. Love Mike but damm, could get use to that every night. Well done Sam!”
