NZ's 'First Gentleman' Clarke Gayford reveals what it was really like meeting The Queen

Clarke Gayford – aka New Zealand’s First Gentleman – caught up with Jono and Ben to talk about his new documentary, Shark Lockdown.

The show is exactly what you think it would be about – seeing what sharks have been up to during lockdown, Clarke explained.

Other than swimming with Great White sharks, being the fiancé of New Zealand’s Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has allowed Clarke to experience some pretty cool things … one of which being the time he got to meet The Queen!

"Plus one tags along," he joked about the private audience with Queen Elizabeth.

So if not fishing, what did Clarke talk to Her Majesty about?

"I chatted about my nana," he admitted, revealing that his grandmother had been a big fan of The Queen.

"The one thing I will say, she was very engaged in New Zealand affairs and she knew details about things that really, really, surprised me."

How cool is that?!
