Meet Marlborough Apprentice #10, Dylan Harris from Decorating Marlborough!
Dylan was searching for a career where he could establish lifelong skills for his future. He started with Decorating Marlborough Ltd after Lockdown at the bottom of the ladder, sanding everything and doing the basic on-site works and within a very short time he was ready to commit to a BCITO apprenticeship. His focus & dedication to his training are evident to all who work with him and his enthusiasm is infectious! Dylan will make a fine tradesman when his apprenticeship is complete.
Why did you get into your industry?
I was inspired to become a Painter/Decorator by my Uncle who is a qualified tradesman. When I saw the transformation that takes place after a quality painting project, I wanted to be able to do the same. I have since completed redecoration at my house and I’m very proud of what I have achieved.
How long have you been in your industry?
I have just completed my first year with Decorating Marlborough Limited.
Highlights of working in my industry?
I get to work with an awesome crew of tradespeople who are more than happy to teach me everything they know. I have gained skills that have me ahead of most 1st year apprentices and I have confidence in my abilities. I can’t wait for the learning to continue over the next few years.
