Avocados are the best. But removing the pits? The worst!

So here's a handy trick to safely remove the pit, which also gets you picture-perfect slices every time.

Rather than halve the avocado lengthwise, halve it crosswise, around the pit.

If the avocado is ripe, you can simply give the avocado a gentle squeeze and the pit will drop right out.

No dangerous knife-wielding necessary!

Once you've scooped the avocado out from the peel, you can then slice the avocado into rings and get nice thick gorgeous slices like these:
