She may be a "Bad Mom" - but she makes a great daughter.

Mila Kunis brought her parents to tears when she surprised them by renovating their beloved 24-year-old condo.

The actress teamed up with home company Houzz to overhaul the modest California home they have lived in for almost a quarter of a century, according to the Daily Mail.

While she is worth around $30million - and her husband Ashton Kutcher is worth another $140 - the 33-year-old could easily afford a whopping mansion for dad Mark and mum, Elvira.

But the couple refuse to move from the home where they raised Mila from nine years old.

"You cannot get my parents out of that condo," she said in the latest episode of Houzz’s makeover video series, My Houzz. "They’re never going to move. They love it."

So she decided to give the house - which "kind of looks like Miami Vice circa 1994" - an overhaul instead.

Besides the outdated interior, Mila's main gripe is the tiny kitchen and the crampings walls which cuts it off from the rest of the home.

"Whoever's in the kitchen is isolated from everybody else," Kunis explained.

After recruiting LA-based designer Breeze Giannasio, she explained how she wanted to utilise the space better by making it more open-plan.

However, she wanted to keep some of the personal touches her parents have kept through the years - such as the three paintings they brought from Russia which, Mila said, represents the family's "past present and future."

Despite being nine-months pregnant at the time, Mila herself insisted on being the one to knock down the detested wall ... although she quit after just one swing.

Her monitoring of the project was also suspended when baby Dimitri arrived during filming.

But upon seeing the finished project, she was delighted: "Knowing how hard I work now for what I have puts things into perspective for how much harder my parents had to work to have given us the life my brother and I had," she said. "So I desperately want to give them something they deserve."

Arriving before the big reveal, her parents - who were not even sure why they had been kicked out of their house for six weeks - were apprehensive.

"When you're at a certain age, it's not easy to move out and do the changes, and we did not know what to expect," her dad griped.

"I was scared actually ... I didn't want to go," her mum admitted.

But upon seeing it they were immediately blown away, with Elvira even breaking down into tears.

"Seeing myparent's reaction to their condo for the first time made everything worth it. All the stress, the timing ... everything became null and void when my mom started crying," Mila confessed.

Her dad joked it now had "enough room for the six grandchildren", which evoked a scowl from his daughter.

Son-in-law Ashton Kutcher then christened the new home with a touching toast.

"When you have your own family and you come into another family, you always think that no other family will be as connected and loving and caring as your own family ... except for you guys," he said. "I couldn't ask for better in-laws. There's no distinction between Mila's family and my family.

Mila added: "I think that my brother and our kids are going to be there way more often."
