If you've ever wondered how best to explain childbirth, this woman may have found the solution.

Owner of the Puget South Birth Centre, Liz Chalmers explained with just a ping pong ball and a balloon exactly what happens during labour - and it is both amazing and a little bit terrifying.

In the video - made for her niece Charlotte who "is working toward becoming a childbirth educator in New Zealand" - Liz inserts the small ball into the balloon, and after blowing it up squeezes it to show the difference between Braxton Hicks contractions, and real contractions that cause dilation.

Shout out to all the mums who's balloons managed to push out their own little ping pong balls. You are champions!
