Got questions about The Hits? We’ve got answers!
From music, hosts, and competitions to how to listen anywhere in New Zealand (or beyond), this is your one-stop guide to everything The Hits.
1. How can I listen to The Hits?
Stream The Hits right here online or on your phone, with the free iHeartRadio app.
Find your local frequency across the North and South islands below to listen on your radio.

2. What type of music do you play?
We play a blend of music, mixing new pop hits with classic favourites from the '80s, '90s, and 2000s - upbeat, easy-listening tracks for everyone.
Our daily rotation includes:
- Recent Pop Hits: Chart-toppers from artists like Post Malone, Teddy Swims, and Benson Boone.
- Iconic Throwbacks: Familiar classics from legends like Fleetwood Mac, Bon Jovi, and Shania Twain.
- Local Kiwi Artists: Popular homegrown acts like SIX60, Drax Project, and Coterie.
You can check out what's playing right now at The Hits Just Played, or browse our curated playlists at The Hits iHeartRadio Playlists.
3. How does The Hits decide on music to play?
The Hits Music Director chooses the music we play on the station, based on listener research and music charts. We also take into consideration what our listeners do and don't want to hear - you can have your say and Rate our Playlist.
4. Why do some songs play more than others?
We base the frequency of music on what listeners tell us they love in our Rate the Playlist survey, as well as how high the songs placed on the charts. We often run competitions where you have to listen out for a certain artist to win a trip to see them live overseas, so we might play them more frequently during the contesting period to get more people in the draw.
