Coffee is an important daily ritual for a lot of us, especially first thing in the morning.

We often hear about the risk factors of drinking coffee - like teeth discoloration, heartburn, and digestive issues.

But apparently if you put a dollop of butter (yes, butter!) in your coffee you'll be healthy in no time!

It's called "Bulletproof Coffee," and it's not really new.

Back in 2014, Shailene Woodley declared her love for the concoction on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, saying "it will change your life!"

The concept comes from entrepreneur Dave Asprey, a Silicon Valley nutrition nut, who claims that the drink improves brain functionality, supports weight loss, suppresses hunger, and increases overall performance.

And his cult of followers seem to agree with him.

Bulletproof Coffee:

  • Brew 1 cup of coffee using filtered water, just off the boil, with 2 1/2 heaping tablespoons freshly ground coffee beans.
  • Add 1-2 tablespoons grass-fed, unsalted butter.
  • Mix it all in a blender for 20-30 seconds until it is frothy like a foamy latte.
