Upon first glance, the picture below of a skirt hanging on a clothesline seems totally normal.

But you may be surprised to learn that the skirt is actually made out of a $3 tea towel from Kmart!

You'd never know, right?

The genius idea is all thanks to one Aussie mum, who thought the gorgeous towels were too pretty to use on her wet dishes - and we couldn’t love it more!

Taking to the Kmart Mums Australia Facebook page, the woman shared a photograph of her 2-year-old daughter's floral skirt explaining how she made it.

Alongside the photo, she wrote: "Whipped up a skirt for my almost two-year-old this afternoon using one of the tea towels I purchased recently. Could easily have made two from the one tea towel."

The best part? The creation cost a measly $3.

Unsurprisingly, the mum's clever sewing hack has been a total hit with other followers complimenting her creations.

"So easy and cheap!" wrote one.

"One of my favourite tea towels, I love this!" said another.

A third added: "You would never have guessed that was a tea towel. Good job! Very cute."
