Wellington Zoo is giving little away about its new residents, which are scheduled to arrive at the end of the month.

The new animals will arrive at the Zoo at the end of this month, all the way from Paris.

The zoo is inviting people to guess what they think is coming, based on several clues.

It's a mammal that comes from South America, prefers to live in groups, is semi-aquatic and can stay under water for five minutes.

One possibility is the world's largest rodent, the capybara, which fits the description.

The animals will be welcome arrivals in Wellington after the death of long term residents, Lanky the pelican and Sam the chimpanzee this week.
