Phil and Ted's is recalling its latest baby strollers amid concerns they have a possible pinching hazard.

It affects early versions of the dash v5 buggy, which are worth nearly nine hundred dollars.

The recall comes after three overseas warranty reports from the UK and the US indicated damage to the buggy's main hinge during unfolding.

Chief executive Campbell Gower says not all dash v5 buggies are affected.

He says people who have buggies with serial numbers between PTRV 0715/0746 and PTRV 0815/2525 should stop using them and register for a free replacement frame.

Two weeks ago, Phil & Teds was given a warning by The Commerce Commission after it was found 10 of its teddy bears posed a choking hazard.
