From July 1st, Queensland club-goers will be banned from buying shots and pre-mixed drinks with a high alcohol content after midnight.

Attorney-General Yvette D'Ath has announced these measures to try and minimise alcohol-fuelled violence across Queensland.

The ban on the sale and supply of rapid intoxication drinks after midnight includes jelly shots, bombs and those with more than 45 millilitres of spirits or liqueur.

All alcohol sales will be banned after 2am.
