A video announcing their recent pregnancy went viral, but just a day later vlogging sweethearts Sam and Nia revealed the devastating news they had suffered a miscarriage.

Sam came up with the wacky idea of wanting to break the pregnancy news to his wife last week, taking a sneaky sample of her urine from the loo one night.

He filmed his own surprise as the test reveals a positive result, defeating his fears that the pee may be diluted from the toilet water.

He then shared the news with Nia and their two cute kids at breakfast. Her over-joyed reaction was a tearjerker, sending the internet in to a spin with over 10 million views on YouTube.

However, the high school sweethearts, who make a video blog every day, took a rare rest day to cope with their loss.

Over the weekend they released a video explaining their day off, sitting in bed together, weeping as they broke the news to their fans that they had lost their baby girl.

"Bam! It just hit us like a bomb," Nia explained.

"I have felt my womb empty out. I never, ever, ever knew that women felt that way."

They said they had not yet told their other eldest daughter, Symphony, and hoped to continue to grow their young family.

"Through this tragedy we have come closer together as a family. Nia and I mourning together like this has made us stronger and it's made me appreciate my children more."
