Tickets have gone on sale for Justin Bieber's first open air stadium show in New Zealand, revealing a few surprises.

The Sorry hitmaker will perform at Mt Smart Stadium on March 18 as part of his Purpose World Tour for a show that appears to be fully seated.

Tickets went on sale at 2pm today, ranging in price from $79 for a seat in the Upper East Stand, to $625 for a VIP pass.

So what exactly does a $625 VIP ticket get you at the concert?

There are two types available:

The I'll Show You Backstage VIP Pit Experience at $625.00 gets punters a ticket to the exclusive JB Pit inside the stage, a premium merchandise pack, a commemorative laminate, early entry to the venue, and an on site concierge including VIP cloaking.

Slightly cheaper at $525 is the "Where are U Now" Backstage VIP Seat Experience, which gets fans a premium merchandise pack, an exclusive commemorative laminate and access to a dedicated VIP entrance into the venue.

Neither tickets come with a photo or meeting with Bieber, who notably cancelled all backstage meet-and-greets in March, saying they make him "end up feeling so drained and filled with so much of other people's spiritual energy that I end up so drained and unhappy".

The rest of the prices are as follows:

Field: $99 - $625
West Stand NZ: $99.00 - $279
Upper East Stand: $79.00 - $279
East Stand Lounge: $149.00 - $279
