Matthew David McConaughey first gained notice for his breakout role in the coming of age comedy Dazed and Confused (1993). Amongst the many awards he has received through his acting career, he has most recently won an Academy Award for Best Actor for his role portraying a cowboy diagnosed with AIDS in the biographical film Dallas Buyers Club.
