It's nearly time to deck the halls with the perfect Christmas wreath.

While wreaths are a great way to give your home a festive touch, unfortunately they aren't the most affordable decoration.

Yep, most homeware stores sell wreaths for $40-$70!

But this mum's genius Kmart Christmas wreath hack will not only save you money - it will also instantly brighten your home.

All you have to do is pick up a $4 pool noodle from Kmart (or a $5 one from The Warehouse) and grab some Christmas baubles and tinsel.

Sharing the hack on Facebook Jessica said: "I just used a pool noodled bent into a circle and kept together with duct tape. I then wound tinsel around and secured in spots with hot glue, then started adding baubles in a random pattern and sizes also with hot glue! All in under two hours too and would be fun to make with kids."

Voila! You have your very own merry and modern DIY Christmas wreath!

Of course if you don't have the time to create your own beautiful wreath Kmart also sells pre-made ones for $15.
