Tunnel Opening Delayed By Pooping Man

Wellington's Mt Victoria Tunnel was the scene of a bizarre pooping incident this morning (Thursday), delaying its opening.

At around 6am a man reportedly jumped from the pedestrian walkway down onto the road inside the tunnel and went about his business.

The tunnel has been regularly closed for maintenance overnight, reopening at 6am daily. 

However the code-brown callout resulted in a 45-minute cleanup, delaying traffic.

The man involved had been spoken to by police.
