You might have just wrapped your head around invisible jeans and plastic jeans, but there is already a new boundary-pushing denim trend on the way.

And the latest crotchless design from French clothing brand Y Project - a favourite of Gigi Hadid - might just be the most daring of the lot, according to the Daily Mail.

The 'detachable button down pants' consist of nothing more than two denim trouser legs attached to a waist belt by suspenders, leaving the bottom completely exposed.

But the company is still banking on shoppers splashing out for the skimpy garment - with the pants priced at an eye-watering £447 ($NZ 785) on fwrd.com.

On the website, the jeans are seen paired with a button-down shirt dress, which goes some way towards preserving the model's modest.
