Armed Robbery At Hastings Service Station

Police are looking for two males who held up a Hastings service station at the weekend armed with knives.

The two males went into the Gull service station in Omahu Rd, Hastings at 1.20am on Sunday morning armed with knives. They approached the lone attendant and demanded money from the cash register and cigarettes.

The employee has complied with their instructions and they have run off with two grey canvas float bags, cash and cigarettes.

The offenders are described as:

Offender 1

Male Maori
5’8”
Slim build
Wearing a black puffer jacket
Red scarf covering face
Black sweat pants
Black sport shoes with white laces and white trim

Offender 2

Male Maori
6ft
Slim build
Black hoodie
Blue bandana
Black and white shoes possibly with red laces

It is believed both offenders have run across Omahu Rd, through properties and out onto Ballentyne Street.

Police want to speak to anyone who saw the robbery or who noticed anyone behaving suspiciously around the service station early on Sunday morning.

While the two men were well-disguised, someone may recognise the clothing and footwear they were wearing.
