Jono, Ben and Megan talk to Zoe Hobbs after she wins gold for New Zealand

Fresh off making New Zealand sporting history, Commonwealth Games gold medallist Zoe Hobbs joined Jono, Ben & Megan to relive the biggest moment of her career.

The Kiwi sprint star opened up about standing on top of the podium, proving her doubters wrong, running through torrential rain and the emotional reaction from her family after winning the women's 100m in a stunning 10.93 seconds.

Just moments after claiming Commonwealth Games gold, Zoe Hobbs caught up with Jono, Ben & Megan to reflect on a race that has already gone down in New Zealand sporting history.

Winning gold in the women's 100m was an incredible achievement on its own, but for Hobbs, one of the most memorable moments came after the race was over.

Standing atop the podium while the New Zealand national anthem played was something she'd dreamed about for years.

"It was pretty emotional," she shared, describing the overwhelming feeling of representing her country on one of sport's biggest stages.

What makes the achievement even more remarkable is that there was a time when people questioned whether the 100m was the right event for her.

Hobbs revealed she'd previously been encouraged to consider other sprinting events instead. But despite the advice, she never let go of her dream.
