Dear Megan | Itty Bitty Bit

My girlfriend took me to her friends party a few months ago, where I got chatting to one of her friends I'd never met before. Turns out we share a nerdy love of planes and tracking where they're going.We got talking about how cool it would be to have a little device on your windowsill that tells you what planes are flying overhead and where they're going.

He was like, I can make that for you man! I was like how good, this guy is a champ!A few weeks later, he turns up with the finished product. It's sick, and looks awesome, but then he says it's $800 - mates rates! There was never any mention of money, he said "I can make that for you man" like word for word!!My girlfriend thinks I should pay him because now its awkward if I kick up a fuss with her friend, but something that expensive needs to be agreed on before hand right?!

I'm so grateful and its really awesome, but $800, I just want to give it back to him tbh! What should I do!?
