The team at The Hits have gone viral after their “Fuel Frenzy” promotion landed them on the news and it’s not hard to see why.

With petrol prices still hitting hard, the fuel promotion leading up to Easter weekend struck a nerve with listeners across the country. What was meant to be a simple chance to win free fuel has become, for some Kiwis, a rare bit of financial relief.

Listeners flooded in, sharing just how much a tank of petrol can mean right now from getting to work, to visiting family, to simply easing the weekly budget stress.

And it didn’t take long for the story to catch national attention, with Three News picking up on the overwhelming response.

It’s a reminder that sometimes, the smallest giveaways can have the biggest impact.

What started as a holiday promo… has become something a whole lot more meaningful.
