Royal reporter Gavin Grey joined Jono and Ben this morning with continuing coverage of what is happening with the royal family following the passing of Queen Elizabeth II.

Gavin noted that after the new King performed his first royal duties, the public has seemed to warm to the monarch.

"Many people have warmed actually to King Charles in the last few days. He has worn his emotions on his sleeve,” Gavin said. “He's looked visibly upset. He's shown to be much more human.”

Speaking to the unexpected reunion of the Prince and Princess of Wales with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex over the weekend, Gavin also revealed that was actually King Charles was the one to suggest that Prince Williams reach out to his brother Prince Harry.

“William Kate out there with Harry and Megan all together, the four of them, does that mean that maybe some of the ill feelings have been put aside?” Ben asked Gavin.

“If they have, I'm afraid. It's pretty minimal,” Gavin suggested. “I think it's a great thing. Hopefully, they realise they can actually talk to one another.

“But you know, I also hope none of this appears in Harry's forthcoming book or Megan's forthcoming interviews about what exactly happened because so much of this is private to the family, not private because it's top secret sensitive, but it's just so emotional.

“But yes, I think the queen would've been absolutely delighted,” Gavin added. “My sources [say that] King Charles asked Prince William to approach Prince Harry and one hour before Prince William and Kate, were to go on that walk around.

“He phoned Harry, invited him and Megan, and I'm delighted to say they accepted.”

Meanwhile, Jono and Ben also spoke with the New Zealand Herald’s Adam Pearse who is currently in London covering the unfolding royal news ahead of the Queen’s funeral next week.
