Stacey Morrison is a big advocate for breast cancer awareness, and it’s a cause that is near and dear to her heart.

She recently featured in a Woman’s Day piece about losing her mother to breast cancer and how that experience shaped her own life.

However, after learning a headline was tweaked from the original printed story, to make it seem as if she were nonchalant about mastectomies, Stace felt she needed to address the issue on air.

"I was upset to hear from a woman who is a breast cancer survivor, newly, [who told me] that she thought once the article went online – and things can change after that, the headline changed … she felt hurt, she felt like that was minimizing how big a deal a mastectomy is," Stace said.

"[She told me about] all the terrible complications that she’s had, how hard it is and she was saying in a really loving way … that she had been hurt by that.

"All I could do is say 'I’m really sorry'. I hear what she’s saying and I said to her, 'I’m really sorry that you were upset by this and thank you for seeing that that wasn’t actually what I said' and that’s what happens with headlines."

"I hate that I added to some of her disappointment," Stace continued.

"I just want you to know if you are a survivor you have nothing but my huge respect and love and hope for your best healing."
