Blair finds out about Hamilton City Council's new Nature in the City app
During the recent school holidays, the Hamilton City Council released a brand new app called "Nature In The City" to supercharge the existing "Nature In The City" program.
The goal of "Nature In The City" is to restore Hamilton’s native vegetation cover from less than 2% to 10% by 2050. That’s hundreds of thousands of plants across more than 1,000 hectares to be restored.
"Nature is our most powerful taonga – it makes a stronger, healthier city. We know being around nature can be magic for people’s well-being.
By restoring more nature for people to connect with, we can help improve the wellbeing of Hamiltonians" - HCC
I chatted with Aimme Nooyen a Restoration Adviser with Hamilton City Council about some exciting news with a project she is working on.
