Here's his itinerary:

Prime Minister will be in Tauranga today and will attend the official opening of the Tauranga Eastern Link project.

The $455 million new highway is the biggest roading project in the Bay of Plenty's history and will open up travel and support economic development and growth in the region.

The project includes seven bridges, the country's biggest roundabout, a new cycleway and one of the largest public art pieces on display in New Zealand - a 130m long pa sculpture.

Mr Key is also set to open the new Hairy Maclary Sculpture Park at the Strand.

Mr Key is expected to meet the Bay Twisters Cheerleading Squad in the morning and make a visit to Tauranga Intermediate School by the end of the day.
