It's common for celebrities to put out a generic statement to tell their fans they're expecting a child.

But Big Bang Theory star Melissa Rauch decided to take a different approach and it's touched our hearts.

In an emotional article for Glamour Magazine, Melissa shared the exciting news that she and her husband Winston are expecting their first child together - but that this isn't the first time she's been pregnant.

"[I am] extremely overjoyed, but if [I'm] being honest, due to the fact that [I] had a miscarriage the last time [I] was pregnant, [I'm] pretty much terrified at the moment that it will happen again," Melissa wrote in Glamour, revealing that she, like so many other women, has suffered a miscarriage.

Melissa - who's baby is due later this year - bravely explained the mixture of joy and guilt she feels about finally falling pregnant and how struggling with fertility issues while hearing other baby announcements "felt like a tiny stab in the heart".

In the honest article, Melissa opened up about the "profound sorrow" of having a miscarriage and the pain of having people ask her 'when she would have a little one?' without knowing what she was secretly going through.

"All I really know for sure is that this experience has changed me forever," she confessed, "I know it’s made me grateful for every moment of my current pregnancy, and I hope it will make me a better mother in some capacity when I can finally hold the child that has been in my heart in my arms."

She then went on to offer hope to other women who are dealing with similar situations, writing: "So, to all the women out there who are dealing with fertility issues, have gone through a miscarriage or are going through the pain of it currently, allow me to leave you with this message: You are not alone. And, it is perfectly OK to not be OK right now."
