She's one of the most beautiful women in Hollywood, but Blake Lively wants us all to know it's just her hair and make-up team that have her looking so gorgeous.
Last night Blake condemned the unrealistic beauty standards society has and shared her worries about what her two young daughters will grow up seeing, and how it might shape their perception.
'There's this awareness of what they’re going to be exposed to and what they grow up seeing,' she said.
The actress - who has daughters James, two and four-month-old Ines, with her husband Ryan Reynolds - wants her girls to know all the effort that goes into looking flawless for fancy red carpet pictures.
'What you're seeing on red carpets and in magazines takes a lot of effort and a lot of people,' she said. 'People don't understand that it's all very constructed. What little girls are seeing isn't what [these celebrities] look like when they wake up in the morning — even though it’s no less beautiful.
She went on: 'For me, it's important for my daughters to know that it's not real life. They're seeing me dressed up in all this hair and make-up, but they also see me without that. I want them to see both sides, because there is never just one side.'
Blake, who models for L'Oréal, is often humble about her looks. In January, she shared a photo of herself on Instagram getting dolled up by male-up artist Kristofer Buckle and stylist Rod Ortega, adding the caption: 'Thank you ... for making me look like I slept more than 2 hours last night.'
Captioning another photo of herself at the Golden Globes this year, she wrote: 'Thank you to the group of talent it took to make this happen. I don't take it, or you, for granted.'
The 29-year-old also admitted that it is taking time for her to get used to the changes pregnancy has had on her body.
She told E! News: "It's all a process. You know after the second kid it's really different. So, this is not my normal body, but I like it.
"I'm learning to love my body in every iteration and I think that's hard for women, and so I learned a lot."
