Celine Dion reveals that the iconic song from 'Titanic' almost didn't happen

One of Celine Dion's most memorable songs almost didn't happen.

The movie Titanic - which came out almost 20 years ago - features the track My Heart Will Go On and apparently at first the singer wanted no part of it.

Speaking to Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live this week, Dion told a stunned crowd: "There was one song that I didn't want to record, and I'm glad they didn't listen to me."

Thankfully, she was eventually convinced to lay down a demo of the ballad with a little help from her late husband Rene Angelil who apparently twisted her arm.

"My husband said, 'Let's hold on' to the writer and he said, 'Let's try to make it, like, a little demo'," she admitted.

"I sang the song once and they built the orchestra around it. I never re-sang it for the recording. So the demo is the actual recording."

Joke's on her though because she then added: "But after that, I've sung it about three gazillion times."

Celine completely knocked it out of the park, flawlessly performing the song in just one take!

It's funny to think that the final iconic song you hear at the end of the movie is actually that very first demo.

Insanity!
