We've been begging for a Mr G spin-off ever since we were first introduced to the character in Chris Lilley's 2007 series 'Summer Heights High'.

Well now, Australian comedian, actor, director and creator of the Mr G character, Chris Lilley, has hinted that such a spin off could be in the works.

Chris shared a picture to Instagram of himself outside following Sydney's hectic storm with the hashtag attached, 'Hurry up and do a Mr G series.'

If a Mr G series was made it would complete the 'Summer Heights High' trifecta! He has already done shows based on Ja'mie King and Jonah Takalua, also characters from 'Summer Heights High'.

Fans have been going crazy after seeing the photo, one commenting, "Please! Mr G is amazing! Been watching Summer Heights High, We can be heroes, Ja'mie private school girl, Jonah from Tonga and Angry Boys all holidays."

During a Reddit AMA in June a fan asked if he would consider 'performing Mr G The Musical in front of an audience,' with him answering 'definitely one day. And putting on the whole musical would be awesome.'

Each episode of 'Summer Heights High' pulled an average audience of around 1.2 million viewers. Chris has also been nominated for a Most Popular Actor' Logie this year.
