Following the Foo Fighters recent tour of Australia and New Zealand, Dave Grohl reached out to 1 fan in particular, and made his dream come true.

The 46-year-old rocker has offered die-hard Foo Fighters fan Ken Powell VIP tickets to the band's Los Angeles concert in September and a special meet and greet opportunity.

Powell, 56, is known to many as Ken The Foo Fighter, a dedicated fan battling stage four terminal melanoma.

After being diagnosed 14 years ago, Powell was told in 2009 following recovery that the cancer had returned and was terminal.

But he hasn't let his illness deter his efforts to be an enthusiastic Foo Fighters fan, owning all of the band's albums and attending every concert in Australia during his 20 years of being a fan of the Foo Fighters.

On the flight home from Australia, Dave Grohl was told of the fans situation by a friend of Powell who happened to be a flight attendant on the plane they were travelling on.

Once he had heard the story Grohl said he was "Immediately touched"

Not only did he offer the exclusive tickets, but he posed for a photo in which he held a sign saying 'Hi Ken'.

Despite the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for Ken to meet his musical idols one-on-one, costs of travelling to Powell are not covered by the singing superstar.

So, Powell's daughter Tara started a Go Fund Me page, in order to raise funds to finance her father's dream.

'Two major brain surgeries later, radiation and trial treatments his prognosis is still terminal but terminal can't take his determination away,' the page describes the strong Foo Fighters supporter.

Plenty of people are getting behind the cause, with more than $24,000 already raised by 900 people in 20 days.
