Does The Bachelor wear an earpiece?

A former Bachelorette claims the Bachelor wears an earpiece during those drama-filled cocktail parties.

But Three says it's not true.

Season two Bachelorette Shari Flavall told The Spinoff's The Real Pod that producers speak to the Bachelor through an ear piece to direct him through the parties.

"We heard it once," she said. "If they want [him] to have two minutes with someone, they'd be like, 'Right, you've gotta get up now'."

The cocktail parties take place towards the end of each episode before the elimination ceremonies, with the girls sipping champagne while they vie for the bachelor's attention.

They're often crucial to his eventual elimination decisions.

Flavall was in the running for Jordan Mauger's heart. And we all know how that ended.

However, a spokesperson for Three denied Flavall's claims.

"Jordan Mauger did not wear an earpiece during the cocktail parties on The Bachelor New Zealand."

The spokesperson said Zac doesn't wear one either, and nor did Art Green from season one.

Either way, we'll be keeping an eye on Zac's ears next week.
